It’s that time of year again when we have to dress the kids up and send them off to school or kindy as a character from a book. Ahhh Book Week, why do you always sneak up on us and have us madly trying to convince the kids no-one will notice if they go as the same character as last year?

For those who may be a little time pressed to come up with last minute Book Week costume ideas, I have scoured the web for a few of the best ideas that can be done quickly, easily and cheaply!

So there you have it!

From the Children’s Book Council Of Australia Website;

Book Week is the longest running children’s festival in Australia, celebrating its 65th birthday in 2010. All the previous themes can be found here. The dates for Book Week 2013 will be  Saturday 17 – Friday 23 August. Next year’s information can be found here. Each year, many schools and public libraries from all over Australia spend a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians develop activities, offer competitions and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.
